Black font is the Public Health Order

Green font is Green River Recreation Center’s approved actions to open.

3. Gymnasiums may operate in a limited capacity, under the following restrictions, to be enforced by the owner of the facility:

a.  Staff that come within 6 feet of customers or other staff shall wear face coverings; Staff will be wearing face masks when they are within 6 feet of another person.

b.   Employees shall be screened for symptoms of COVID-19, or exposure to an individual with COVID-19, prior to each shift; employees who are ill shall not be allowed to work; employees who have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive person within the previous 14 days shall not be allowed to work; employee logs of the screening activity must be kept and made available for inspection by the local health officer; GRRC: The staff will sanitize their hands immediately upon entering the facility. They will clock in for their shift and they will then go directly to the staff lounge (behind the front desk) where they will have their temperature taken, asked if they are exhibiting any of the symptoms, and asked if they have been around a Known positive COVID-19 case. This will all be recorded manually. We will take the necessary precautions based on the results. We will sanitize, after every use, any utensils used to manually record results.

c.   The business shall maintain a record of staff working hours by date and time for purposes of COVID-19 contact tracing; if such recordkeeping is done manually, sanitizing measures must be taken on the instruments used for recordkeeping in between use; GRRC: Staff will not enter the building if they are exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19 or if they have been around a known COVID-19 case within the last 14 days. Staff MUST clock-in and clock-out for the shift to maintain a record of date and time worked. Staff will keep their time card for checking in and out.

d.   Indoor close-contact group activities, including indoor close-contact sports, are prohibited; personal training is permitted; GRRC: Many activities are not allowed due to the Public Health Order that patrons must remain 6ft apart at all times. We will allow pickleball as long as patrons remain 6-feet apart; no more than two-versus-two and in no more than 1 quarter of the gym.

e.  Locker rooms may be open, provided that lockers are assigned by patron and are disinfected by staff after each use; showers may be open, provided that proper cleaning is performed; at all times, physical distancing must be maintained in locker rooms; GRRC: Daily and Quarterly lockers will be available, but we will have to maintain the 6ft distance between lockers handed out. Staff will clean lockers after every usage when keys are returned. All showers will remain open at any given time. We have laminated stop signs that will show green when clean and the patrons will flip to red after each use. This way we will know each shower our patrons used in the locker room to clean and disinfect directly after use. We will have to staff one Male and one Female at all times throughout operating hours to maintain this order. If we are not able to, we will close the locker room down for a short time frame to disinfect properly. No more than 11 patrons in the locker room at any given time.

f.   Workout equipment must be no less than 6 feet apart (and preferably 10 feet apart), enforced by staff during operation; GRRC: All cardio equipment has been moved to stay available for patrons. Five (5) pieces have moved into our lobby area, five (5) pieces have moved into the downstairs hallway outside the racquetball court access area, and eight (8) pieces remain in the cardio hallway, and two (2) stair masters remain available in the outer weight room. Weight Room equipment we ask that patrons keep at least one (1) piece of equipment between people or remain 6ft apart at all times. If this cannot be maintained, we will put every other piece out of order.

g.   Workout equipment must be cleaned by staff in between each patron use; GRRC: We ask that patrons clean up after their usage. There are stop signs on every piece of equipment in the facility. If it shows green “Clean, turn me over when finished” then it is safe for patrons to use. If it shows red “Dirty, do not use until cleaned!” then the patrons should not use the piece of equipment and the staff knows they must disinfect this piece of equipment because it was used; regardless of if it was cleaned by the patron or not. We will have staff stationed throughout the facility to clean and disinfect equipment after every patron; please allow at least 3-10 minutes (depending on the disinfectant used and the demand for the equipment) before a patron gets on the equipment for it to be properly disinfected. We will have lanyards for certain pieces of cardio equipment that the staff cannot see from the front desk and the lanyard will be returned to staff after every single use. Staff will then clean and disinfect the machine, wait 3-10 minutes for the disinfectant to dry, and then the machine will become available again.

The inner and outer weight room will have lanyards based on capacity only. You must not be in the weight room without the specified lanyard. Please clean the equipment after each use and flip any signs over to show “red” that it was used. Staff will clean the equipment after you have finished with the equipment so please let them know when you are done. Please keep to one machine at a time so as not to monopolize the entire weight room. Lanyards will be disinfected after each use.

We also have a cleaning plan in place to ensure the building is cleaned at least once a day and high-volume areas are cleaned every hour.

During high demand and high capacity months, we may resort to a reservation system. You will be able to reserve a high demand piece of equipment or area of the facility: inner weight room, outer weight room, hot tub, sauna, steam room, fitness class, etc. In the event this happens, you will be able to reserve as far as advanced as necessary online, in-person, or over the phone. You may reserve more than one type of room or equipment on the same day (i.e. sauna one hour, then inner weight room the next hour, etc.). We ask that you do not reserve the same room/equipment more than once in a day. Room reservations will begin on the hour and end 45 minutes after the hour. If you are not able to make it, please call and let us know so we can cancel the reservation. We will wait 5 minutes after the start of your reservation for your arrival before the reservation will be forfeited and allowable for walk-in patrons to use.

b.   Handwashing stations, or hand sanitizer, must be readily available for all patrons; GRRC: We have placed an additional eight (8) hand sanitizing stations around the facility. We have placed four (4) additional disinfectant cleaning solution bottles as well. Please use hand sanitizer at the front doors of the facility and as often as possible.

t.    Group workout classes are permitted, provided that at all timeseach participant can remain at least 6 feet away from other participants of the class; class sizes shall be limited to 50 participants; GRRC: This will be followed for classes. We have put an “x” on the ground in the fitness class for you to stand on/around during your workout. We are able to have a capacity of 8 in the fitness classroom at any given time with the 6-foot rule. Our silver sneakers class in the bottom half of the gymnasium will hold no more than 30 people spaced out about 8 feet apart. Classes will be 45 minutes long to accommodate the extra required cleaning of all the equipment.

j.   Overall number of patrons in the entire facility must not exceed 1 person per 120 square feet, and patrons must maintain physical distancing during their workout; GRRC: we can have a maximum of 266 patrons based on usable space in the facility.

k.  Swimming pools may open so long as there is not more than 1 person per 120 square feet in the pool area; GRRC: The number of patrons in the pool is a maximum of 38 based on the 6-foot rule. We can have no more than 77 total in the pool area including the pool deck.

1.   Spas, steam rooms, and saunas may open so long as appropriate physical distancing measures are maintained between patrons that are not of the same household; GRRC: the capacity for the steam room is one (1), the sauna is one (1), and the hot tub is two (2). No more than 5 patrons can be in the hot tub area.

m.  The business shall not operate without appropriate protective equipment for staff (face coverings, gloves for serving and cleaning, etc.), EPA-approved disinfectants and sanitizers, soap and other necessary cleaning supplies; GRRC: We have always provided basic PPE for our staff. In addition to what we already do, we have ordered gaiters for the staff, we have disposable masks for staff that forget their face masks, and we have given staff directions on how to make their own based off CDC guidelines. We ask that the face-covering are appropriate and are made properly by the CDC guidelines.

SDS can be provided for every chemical upon request, every chemical was researched and kills the pre-existing COVID, every chemical direction was reviewed again to make sure it was being mixed/used properly.

n.   Signage must be displayed reminding customers not to enter the business if they have symptoms of COVID-19, and the signage must be displayed at the business entrance. GRRC: We will have a large sign at the entrance of the facility listing the symptoms, asking patrons to not come into the facility if they are exhibiting any of these symptoms, and asking them not to enter if they have had exposure to a known positive case of COVID-19 within 14 days. We will also add where the patrons/staff know who to contact and where to go if a person has symptoms or known 14 days exposure and therefore is unable to enter. We will also verbally ask them again at the front desk and have handouts available for patrons in a pre-made packet.
