Council Action Items

A.

Consideration to Award the Bid for the Sale of Municipal Property - Lincoln School Addition Tracts B & C

On June 1, 2021, the Governing Body of the City of Green River authorized staff to proceed with the process to advertise for Bids for the sale of Lincoln Tracts B & C. The property consists of 8.7 total acres and is zoned for single family residential. The last appraisal for this property, dated June 15, 2017, determined the appraised value of the property to be $100,000.

Suggested Motion:  Option 1: I move to authorize City staff to negotiate a Development Agreement for the sale of Lincoln School Addition Tracts B & C with William H. Smith and Associates, Inc. Option 2: I move to reject the Bid for the sale of Lincoln School Addition Tracts B & C and authorize City staff to re-advertise the proposed sale at a later date.

B.

Consideration to Approve an Agreement with Coldspring for a Granite Columbarium

Riverview Cemetery currently has three columbarium's for above-ground placement of cremains. This method of burial is becoming more and more popular. The current columbarium with available niches only has twelve spaces left for sale. At the rate niches are being purchased we will run out of space by the end of 2021. Staff sought out quotes for a 144-niche columbarium and the quote from Coldspring was the lowest. Coldspring also provided the most recent columbarium installed in 2015 and the proposed columbarium will match what is already at the Cemetery.

Suggested Motion: I move to approve the agreement with Coldspring to supply a 144 niche columbarium, in the amount of $34,440, pending legal approval.
