The four day program consists of classroom and hands-on instruction. Patrol and traffic duties, investigation and arrest techniques will be some of the police functions covered by the curriculum. The class will be instructed by Officers and other specialists who will provide real life experience and expertise. The classes will meet either at Green River Police Department or the Green River High School, depending on class size, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for four consecutive days beginning July 23rd through July 26th, 2012. For acceptance into the Junior Police Academy, an individual must meet the following minimum standards. • Must be 12 to 17 of age • Live and attend school in Green River • Have no prior felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions for offenses involving violence or weapons. • Have no misdemeanor arrests, excluding traffic violations within twelve months prior to this academy application.
