The City of Green River applied for the funding of the City of Green River Emergency Outdoor Warning System with Sweetwater County Emergency Management and FEMA in February 1985. The system is tested once a month on the first Wednesday at approximately 4:20 p.m. 1490am KUGR radio is the Green River Emergency Alert System Source for information. The system is tested only on the ALERT TONE. There are three tones available on the system that would be used. The tones are the ALERT TONE, the WAIL TONE (evacuation) and the ATTACK TONE. There are four warning sirens located within the City of Green River; City Hall, Roosevelt Park, Wyoming Park, and the City of Green River Public Works Building.
