Green River Animal Control would like to ask all pet owners to read the following ordinances and be aware these ordinances do not only apply to dogs. They also apply to your cats. Although sometimes more difficult than dogs, it is still a pet owners responsibility to keep their pets, including cats, contained on your property and do not allow them to become a public nuisance.The bond for these citations are $60.00 1st offense, $120.00 2nd offense and a must appear in court.
Sec. 6-21. Animals running at large prohibited.It is unlawful for any animal to run at large within the city. Every animal shall be considered running at large when it is physically off the property of the owner of the animal, and not under immediate restraint of a competent person.(Ord. Proper Control to Prevent Nuisance Required.It shall be unlawful for any owner to fail to exercise proper care and control of his/her animals to prevent them from becoming a public nuisance. Excessive, continuous or untimely barking, molesting passerby’s chasing vehicles, habitually attacking other domestic animals, trespassing upon school ground, trespassing upon private property, noxious or offensive order emanating from their living conditions, or unsanitary living conditions shall be deemed a nuisance.
