How long does it take to get a permit?

Permit issuance varies based on
the type of project.  Some projects, such
as re-roofing, can be permitted over-the-counter, meaning the permit is issued
as soon as it is submitted.   On the
other hand, projects such as renovations, additions, and new construction that
require plans to be submitted and reviewed may take up to 14 days for the first
review.  Plans are reviewed by the
Building Inspectors in the order in which they are submitted. Planning ahead
and providing detailed and accurate plans will help ensure you get through the
process faster.
